TEACHER SHORTAGES

TEACHER & ADMINISTRATOR SHORTAGES

CT PTA RESOLUTION:

TEACHER & ADMINISTRATOR SHORTAGES

CT PTA recognizes that the educational shortage among teachers and administrators has reached an alarming proportion in the State of Connecticut and the Nation.

CT PTA encourages the legislature to examine reasonable methods aimed at attracting and maintaining a pool of teacher and administrator candidates in shortage areas.

July, 2002

Although this bill - Senate Bill 44, "An act concerning programs to address the teacher and school administrator shortage" - died this year it is likely the issue will be revisited next legislative session.

This bill attempts to implement some of the recommendations of the Commission on the Teacher and School Administrator Shortage and Minority Recruitment.

We at Connecticut PTA are excited to be part of bringing this serious issue to the forefront. We will continue to track this issue, and present updates on this page.
