Connecticut PTA President's AwardThe President's Award was created in 1999 to recognize a person, organization, or institution for leadership in the promotion of parent involvement in our state and in local communities. In order to qualify, the recipient must demonstrate a long-standing commitment to parent involvement and a history of achievement in the area. The award can only be given upon the recommendation of the Connecticut PTA president and the approval of the Board of Directors. This honor is rarely given.
The 2003 Recipient of the HARTFORD HOSPITAL
Hartford Hospital has been an invaluable partner in Connecticut PTA's efforts to get parents involved. Involved parents are a leading indicator of success for children in school and in life. Parent involvement leads to higher graduation rates, higher test scores, less drug and alcohol use, less teenage pregnancy - the list goes on and on. Through Hartford Hospital's generous Web Site hosting, Connecticut PTA has reached hundreds of thousands of parents with news, information and resources to help them become better involved in their children's lives and education. All Connecticut's children benefit from Hartford Hospital's continuing commitment to parent involvement. The award was presented by Donna McGuire, CT PTA President, to James Gregware, Hartford Hospital's Information Services Director, on April 25, 2003, at the CT PTA 103rd Convention. [ Top ]
